Narine, who has played only nine international matches and is yet to play a Test match, is not contracted to West Indies, while his IPL contract in worth $US700,000. And with the Test series and the IPL starting on the same weekend, Narine will be forced to choose between the money or his first Test cap. Windies coach Ottis Gibson has already given up hope that Narine will be available to take on Australia.

The most lucrative contract offered by Windies board is reportedly worth around $US80,000 which is way less than a normal offer from IPL.

This again has refreshed calls for the IPL to be given a clear window by ICC in a calendar to prevent players from having to make the difficult decision.
