Traditional Saris for KKR Cheerleaders

Kolkata Knight Riders, after the brand and logo change, will have local women (as cheerleaders) in saris dancing to classical Rabindra sangeet in their IPL games in the 5th edition in a bid to revive their fortunes to make a local connect after losing their only local hero Saurav Ganguli.

It’s not only the cheerleading outfits been going from short to long for the past four seasons of the IPL, the whole IPL glamour quotient has been significantly toned down in the wake of Lalit Modi getting into a spot of trouble. The after-parties have been toned down and the cheerleaders asked to cover up.

Cricket at Eden Gardens is a big crowd puller in the city but Rabindra Sangeet and the sound of the dhakis (Bengali drums) playing and by combining these will surely bring good luck to KKR.

But the whole credit should go to Pune Warriors India who had incorporated traditional elements in their cheerleading acts in the 4th edition of IPL in 2011.

Way to go KKR !!
